Versatile Blogger Award

Cup tea 2Grab yourself a cup of tea, because today I am having an exciting post for you. I will not only be sharing 7 facts about me, but I will also nominate some awesome bloggers for this award. When Savanna nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award I was so grateful. Awards like this are such a beautiful way to share blogs with the rest of the world. I can’t wait to share some of my favorite bloggers with you.

I want to thank the beautiful Savanna for nominating me for this awesome award. If she wasn’t the one who nominated me, I would have definitely nominated her because she is my favorite! She has such an amazing blog (Rose Recast) and this girl is the sweetest. Please check her out, she won’t disappoint you!

So one rule of the versatile blogger awards is to share 7 facts about yourself. It was pretty difficult to come up, I can say, but here they are!

1. I am a very sensitive person

I have a hard time dealing with discussions, arguing and loud talking. They make me want to leave, run away and hide.

I have had this from a young age. I still remember when I was 11 years old and my family members would watch ‘Laughing at home videos’. They were laughing at children falling from the stairs till tears rolled over their cheeks. I could only cry because it made me feel so sad inside. Just like with those tv programmes for kids where people were slimmed, I had to cry too. I still have a really hard time watching those videos, they just make me feel bad inside.

2. Spring is my favorite season

I just love spring because it is full of beautiful moments. I am so excited to go on bike rides again, feel the warm sun shining on my face, not needing a jacket anymore, flowers growing and birds singing in the early morning.

To me, spring is the time of gratitude. I start to see all the beautiful things that make me happy, things that I missed in winter. Only writing about this, makes me so excited and happy inside already.

3. I am in love with acting

When I was 9 years old I had my first theatre lesson, I have been following lessons ever since (with a little stop in between). I am in love with playing a different character and stepping out of my own skin for a while. When acting you have to try to understand a character even if that character thinks the opposite of how you think. Last year I played Vivienne in Legally Blonde, a character which is so different from who I am. I had so much fun playing this character because I was able to express myself in a way that I would never do in real life. I wish I could do more with acting, maybe in the future.

4. Carrot that is my name

My second name in my old class was carrot :) My skin often has this orange tone to it because I eat so many carrots. When we used to make group photos everyone looked normal and I looked like someone turned up the saturation onto my face! From that moment on my nickname is carrot and everyone in my class knew what they would get as a treat with my birthday, yes, carrots!

5. I need nature around me

I could never live to long in a city, I just need nature around me. To me nature means freedom, being able to go for a walk, ride my bike and letting the wind take my worries away.

I like going to a city for a day or so, but as an introvert I need time alone, silence and freedom. Nature recharges me, gives me energy and makes it able to enjoy all the beautiful small things in life.

6. I am not a fan of going out

I still remember high school, when we were forced to go to school parties. I hated it so much, counting the minutes till I finally could go home. After that I have never been going out anymore and I still don’t feel the need to. I never saw what was fun about loud music, not being able to have proper conversations, always drama and fights. I felt like I had to pretend to have fun, which always made me feel bad.

7. I am in love with the English language

I have always been obsessed with the English language, everything sounds better in English. When I went to high school, they had a course where all our classes were in English. In the beginning I had so much problem with it because I didn’t speak a word in English and there were no words spoken in Dutch during our classes. However, quickly my skills improved and I fell in love. After high school there was no programme like that anymore, which ment everything was in Dutch again. I miss speaking English so much, but I am grateful that I still have the ability to write in English here on my blog. I feel that my English skills have decrease these last few years now I don’t have English lessons anymore, which is unfortunate.

I want to tag these beautiful girls:

I know that this aren’t 15 people, but I just don’t follow that many blogs yet. I am always searching for new blogs to follow, so let me know your favorite blogs in the comments so I can have a look!

keep dreaming2

  1. It was nice to learn a bit more about you! I’m also incredibly sensitive, dislike going out and need nature to feel sane. Are we the same person? Haha :)
