First of all, Happy New Year!
I wish you all a beautiful year, full of special moments, growth and happiness. I am so excited about 2018. 2017 Wasn’t my best year, so this year I want to do everything to get back on track and feel my best. The last few weeks I have been working on setting goals for myself and making a plan on how to achieve them. In a few days I want to share a blodpost I wrote a week ago about 2017 and how I am going to change things in 2018. I can already share one of my goals and that is to be more consistent with my blog and social media again! Every time I take a break from blogging, I realise how much my blog means to me. I love connecting with like-minded people and this truly is a place where I can be myself. I can’t wait to get back into sharing content with you!
Today I am sharing with you a recipe to kick-start the New Year in a festive way! To me stars are the symbol for celebrating the new year. So I came up with a breakfast recipe full of stars. This recipe is a delicious and healthy winter breakfast and is perfect if starting a healthy lifestyle is your New Years resolution!
Ingredients:
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags
- 1 Cup water
- 1/2 Cup oats
- 1/2 Banana
- 1/2 Apple
- Cinnamon
Other things needed:
- Tiny star cookie cutter
- large star cookie cutter
- Piece of paper
- Scissor
- Pencil of pen
Start by boiling the water into a pan, add the 2 teabags of Earl Grey tea and let it simmer for a few minutes, until the water has become a dark brown colour, so the flavour from the tea is pretty strong. Take out the teabags when the water has that dark colour. Add the oats and cook until you get a thick consistency. Take the pan from the stove and put on the lid so it doesn’t cool down.
In the mean time cut the banana in to thin slices. With the small cookie cutter make about 6 star shapes from the banana slices.
Do the same with the apple, slice into thin slices and cut out some star shapes with the larger cookie cutter.
To make the edge from cinnamon onto the apple. Take a piece of paper and a pencil and draw the inside of the large cookie cutter onto paper. Take a scissor and cut the shape out of the paper. Now make that shape a little smaller, by cutting of a small line from the star-shaped paper. Now lay the paper star onto the apple and pour on some cinnamon and spread it all over the lining on the star.
Pour the oatmeal in a bowl and add the apple and banana stars! Enjoy your oatmeal with a delicious cup of earl grey tea and you are ready for a beautiful and productive day!
I love the stars so cute
